WAV was specified around the audio itself, with no standard place for a title, an album or a cover image, so players fall back to displaying the filename. WAV is enormous — roughly 10 MB per stereo minute at CD quality — and the classic format has a 4 GB ceiling and no room for proper tags.
Can a WAV file carry a 5.1 surround mix?

Does converting change the sample rate of my WAV audio?
