PDF to TXT Conversion FAQ
How does your PDF to Text converter work?
+
Our PDF to Text converter utilizes advanced algorithms to extract text content accurately. Upload your PDF, and PDF.to will transform it into plain text.
Is the text extraction accurate, even with complex layouts?
+
Yes, our PDF to Text converter is designed to handle complex layouts and accurately extract text content. It strives to provide precise results, even in challenging scenarios.
Can I preserve formatting and styles in the converted text?
+
The converter focuses on text extraction and may not preserve complex formatting or styles. The output is plain text, making it suitable for cases where the emphasis is on textual content.
Are there any limitations on the file size for text extraction?
+
While PDF.to can handle various file sizes, for optimal performance, PDF.to recommends uploading files of moderate size for a smoother text extraction process.
Can I extract text from specific pages of a PDF?
+
Certainly! Our PDF to Text converter allows you to specify the pages you want to extract text from. This feature provides flexibility in selecting the content for extraction.
What about a password-protected PDF?
+
Use the Unlock PDF tool first (you need to know the password). Once unlocked, the TXT conversion runs normally.
Is the PDF to TXT converter free?
+
Yes. One conversion an hour is free, with no account needed, for a file within the free size limit. A paid plan removes the hourly limit and the size limit, and lets you add several files to one job.
Does PDF.to keep a copy of my PDF?
+
Only for a short time. Your uploaded PDF and the resulting TXT are deleted from our servers automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. Nobody reads the contents, and nothing is shared.
Why is my TXT layout slightly different from the original PDF?
+
TXT is a flowing-text format; PDF is a fixed-page format. Some absolute positioning becomes paragraph flow during conversion, which is normal and editable.
