When WebP supports an alpha channel (PNG, WebP, GIF) and the original JFIF had transparency, we keep it. Converting to a format without transparency (JPG, BMP) fills transparent areas with white by default.

Will the converted WebP have the same dimensions as my JFIF?

If WebP is lossless and JFIF was lossy (or vice versa), file size will change. PNG (lossless) is typically larger than JPG (lossy) for photographs but smaller for solid-color graphics and screenshots.
