WMV to MP2 Conversion FAQ
How do I extract audio from a WMV video as MP2?
+
Upload your WMV video. PDF.to pulls the audio track out, encodes it to MP2, and gives you a MP2-only download. The video stream is discarded.
Will the MP2 output have the same sample rate as the source?
+
Yes by default. We do not resample unless you explicitly request it. 48 kHz is preserved from movie sources, 44.1 kHz from music sources.
Is the WMV to MP2 extraction free?
+
Yes, within the free size limit. PRO supports much larger WMV files and parallel batch extraction.
Does PDF.to read or store my WMV content?
+
No. Nobody reads the contents of your WMV, and nothing is shared. The uploaded WMV and the resulting MP2 are deleted from our servers automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result.
Can I batch-extract audio from multiple WMV files?
+
Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.
Does the converter work on streaming video URLs?
+
No — PDF.to converts files you upload, not third-party stream URLs. Download the WMV legally first, then upload it for MP2 extraction.
Why is the MP2 file much smaller than the WMV video?
+
Because the video stream (typically 90%+ of file size) is discarded. Only the audio track ends up in the MP2, which is why it can drop from gigabytes to a few megabytes.
