How many frames will I get from the MOV?

By default, one frame per second of MOV runtime. The options panel lets you pick every frame, one per 5 seconds, only key-frames, or a custom interval.
What resolution will the extracted WebP images have?

Source resolution. A 1080p MOV produces 1920×1080 WebP stills; a 4K source produces 3840×2160 stills. Downscale in the options panel if needed.
Can I extract a single frame at a specific timestamp?

Yes. Use the timestamp picker on the upload preview to scrub to the exact moment, then click 'extract this frame as WebP'.
Is the frame extraction lossy?

Each frame is decoded from the MOV (lossless) and re-encoded as WebP. If WebP is lossless (PNG), no quality is lost. If WebP is JPG, we use high quality (90) by default.
Will the WebP stills be timestamped or numbered?

Yes — file names are zero-padded sequence numbers (WebP_00001.WebP, WebP_00002.WebP, ...) so they sort correctly. The options panel can also embed the source timecode in EXIF.
Can I make a contact-sheet or thumbnail grid from the MOV?

Yes — pick the 'contact sheet' option to get a single WebP containing a grid of thumbnails, useful for storyboarding or video previews.
How large can my MOV video be?

100 MB on the free plan, 5 GB on PRO. Frame extraction is fast even for long videos.

Does PDF.to keep my MOV or extracted WebP files?

What if my MOV has variable frame rate?

We normalize to a constant frame rate internally before extraction, so the WebP stills are spaced evenly in time regardless of how the source was encoded.
