MKV to AMR Conversion FAQ
How do I extract audio from a MKV video as AMR?
+
Upload your MKV video. PDF.to pulls the audio track out, encodes it to AMR, and gives you a AMR-only download. The video stream is discarded.
Will the AMR output have the same sample rate as the source?
+
Yes by default. We do not resample unless you explicitly request it. 48 kHz is preserved from movie sources, 44.1 kHz from music sources.
Is the MKV to AMR extraction free?
+
Yes, within the free size limit. PRO supports much larger MKV files and parallel batch extraction.
Does PDF.to read or store my MKV content?
+
No. Nobody reads the contents of your MKV, and nothing is shared. The uploaded MKV and the resulting AMR are deleted from our servers automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result.
Can I batch-extract audio from multiple MKV files?
+
Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.
Does the converter work on streaming video URLs?
+
No — PDF.to converts files you upload, not third-party stream URLs. Download the MKV legally first, then upload it for AMR extraction.
Why is the AMR file much smaller than the MKV video?
+
Because the video stream (typically 90%+ of file size) is discarded. Only the audio track ends up in the AMR, which is why it can drop from gigabytes to a few megabytes.
