PDF.to reads each frame of your GIF and re-encodes the sequence as a WebM video with a real video codec. Animated GIF files become smooth WebM clips; a single still GIF becomes a short fixed-length WebM.
The WebM contains the same frames once through. Looping is a player setting rather than part of the video, so add a loop attribute when you embed the WebM if you want the endless-loop behavior a GIF has by default.

Standard WebM video does not support an alpha channel, so transparent areas of the GIF are flattened onto a solid background. Pick the background color in the options panel before converting.
