📙 Vegetation & the Terrestrial Carbon Cycle: The First 400 Million Years by David Beerling, F. Ian Woodward — free epub

Plants have colonized and modified the world's surface for the past 400 million years. In this book the authors demonstrate that an understanding of the role of vegetation in the terrestrial carbon cycle during this time can be gained by linking the key mechanistic elements of present day vegetation processes to models of the global climate during different geological eras. The resulting interactive simulations of climate and vegetation processes tie in with observable geological data supporting the validity of the authors' approach.

Global Climate Change and Response of Carbon Cycle in the Equatorial Pacific and Indian Oceans and Adjacent Landmasses
Global Climate Change and Response of Carbon Cycle in the Equatorial Pacific and Indian Oceans and Adjacent Landmasses free epub by H. Kawahata and Y. Awaya (Eds.)

To understand the global warming mechanism, global mapping of primary production was carried out under the GCMAPS program. The program was concerned with marine and terrestrial environmental changes, which affect carbon cycle on the regional and global sc...

Late Cainozoic Floras of Iceland: 15 Million Years of Vegetation and Climate History in the Northern North Atlantic epub download by Thomas Denk, Friðgeir Grimsson, Reinhard Zetter, Leifur A. Símonarson (auth.)

Being the only place in the northern North Atlantic yielding late Cainozoic terrestrial sediments rich in plant fossils, Iceland provides a unique archive for vegetation and climate development in this region. This book includes the complete plant fossil ...

Forest Ecosystems, Forest Management and the Global Carbon Cycle
Forest Ecosystems, Forest Management and the Global Carbon Cycle free epub by Michael J. Apps, David T. Price (auth.), Michael J. Apps, David T. Price (eds.)

Globally, forest vegetation and soils are both major stores of terrestrial organic carbon, and major contributors to the annual cycling of carbon between the atmosphere and the biosphere. Forests are also a renewable resource, vital to the everyday existe...
