πŸ“™ Massive MIMO Meets Small Cell: Backhaul and Cooperation by Howard H. Yang, Tony Q.S. Quek (auth.) β€” free pdf

This brief explores the utilization of large antenna arrays in massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) for both interference suppression, where it can improve cell-edge user rates, and for wireless backhaul in small cell networks, where macro base stations can forward data to small access points in an energy efficient way. Massive MIMO is deemed as a critical technology for next generation wireless technology. By deploying an antenna array that has active elements in excess of the number of users, massive MIMO not only provides tremendous diversity gain but also powers new aspects for network design to improve performance. This brief investigates a better utilization of the excessive spatial dimensions to improve network performance. It combines random matrix theory and stochastic geometry to develop an analytical framework that accounts for all the key features of a network, including number of antenna array, base station density, inter-cell interference, random base station deployment, and network traffic load. The authors explore the impact from different network parameters through numerical analysis.Researchers in wireless network design will find this to be an exceptional resource, as will advanced-level students or professionals working in networking and information systems design.

Architectures of Small-Cell Networks and Interference Management
Architectures of Small-Cell Networks and Interference Management free pdf by Duy Trong Ngo, Tho Le-Ngoc (auth.)

This Springer Brief presents the architectures of small-cell networks and recent advances in interference management. The key challenges and values of small cells are first introduced, followed by the reviews of various small-cell architectures and interf...

Diagnosing Non-small Cell Carcinoma in Small Biopsy and Cytology
Diagnosing Non-small Cell Carcinoma in Small Biopsy and Cytology free pdf by Andre Luis Moreira, Anjali Saqi (eds.)

This volume provides a practical yet comprehensive guide to manage the shift in the diagnosis of lung cancer from large resections to small samples, including cytology specimens and core biopsies. Specifically, it outlines various available minimally-inva...

5G radio access networks : centralized RAN, cloud-RAN, and virtualization of small cells
5G radio access networks : centralized RAN, cloud-RAN, and virtualization of small cells free download by Trestian, Ramona; Venkatarman, Hrishikesh

C-RAN and virtualized Small Cell technology poses several major research challenges. These include dynamic resource allocation, self-configuration in the baseband pool, high latency in data transfer between radio unit and baseband unit, the cost of data d...

Primary and Secondary Metabolism of Plant Cell Cultures
Primary and Secondary Metabolism of Plant Cell Cultures epub download by F. C. Steward (auth.), Professor Dr. Karl-Hermann Neumann, Professor Dr. Wolfgang Barz, Professor Dr. Ernst Reinhard (eds.)

It must have been some feeling of frustration invoked by the genus loci of big conferences which brought Don Dougall, Mike Fowler, and me over a cup of coffee to think of organizing a small meeting on cell culture metabolΒ ism. The basic aim was to bring ...

Evolution of Massive Stars: A Confrontation between Theory and Observation
Evolution of Massive Stars: A Confrontation between Theory and Observation free download by C. de Jager (auth.), D. Vanbeveren, W. van Rensbergen, C. de Loore (eds.)

Massive stars occupy an exceptional place in general astrophysics. They trigger many if not all of the important processes in galactic evolution whereas due to their intrinsic brightness, they offer the (only until now) possibility to study the stellar co...

Cscw: Cooperation or Conflict? (Computer Supported Cooperative Work)
Cscw: Cooperation or Conflict? (Computer Supported Cooperative Work) download pdf by Steve Easterbrook

Computer supported cooperative work (CSCW) systems will undoubtedly play an important role in the application of information systems in the 1990s and beyond. The term "cooperative" is often taken for granted and it is assumed that CSCW users are willing a...

The Unknown Dead: Civilians in the Battle of the Bulge
The Unknown Dead: Civilians in the Battle of the Bulge free epub by Peter Schrijvers

Traditional histories of the hard-fought Battle of the Bulge routinely include detailed lists of the casualties suffered by American, British, and German troops. Conspicuously lacking in most accounts, however, are references to the civilians in Belgium a...

PR β€” a persuasive industry? : spin, public relations, and the shaping of the modern media
PR β€” a persuasive industry? : spin, public relations, and the shaping of the modern media epub download by Trevor Morris, Simon Goldsworthy

Like it or loathe it, PR has become a key ingredient in our lives, but surprisingly little serious thought is given to what PR is and what its practitioners do. Glancing, usually disparaging references to PR abound, and journalists and others feel free to...
